Ys offer classes for all ages, all levels, and all interests. From low-impact exercise and chair classes, stretching and strength training to indoor cycling, water exercise, and yoga, you’ll find a group class that’s fun, supportive and keeps you moving.

Group Fitness Class Descriptions

AOA (Active Older Adults): Workouts include easy cardio, strength training, exercise balls and balance. Stay fit at any age with this fun and motivating class. Recommended age 55+. Also great for beginners. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

AQUA ZUMBA: Blends the Zumba philosophy with water resistance, for a challenging but fun pool party.

BOOTCAMP: Alternates strength training exercises with cardio activities to give you two workouts in one class.

CARDIO DANCE: An energetic fitness class with a mix of Latin, International and pop music. Aerobic fitness with a combination of fast and slow rhythms to tone the body.

MODIFIED WATER AEROBICS: Same as water aerobics but designed for beginners or people with special needs.

MODIFIED YOGA: Same as regular yoga, but designed for the person just getting started or those with special needs. Please bring a pillow or blanket if you need extra support.

PILATES: A conditioning routine that helps build long, lean muscles while emphasizing strength, endurance, flexibility, and posture. The main focus is core strength. Improves overall health and wellness.

PIYO: Combines low-impact, high fat burning cardio with the muscle sculpting of pilates and the flexibility of yoga to create a one of a kind workout.

SILVER SNEAKERS: Have fun and move to music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activities for daily living. A chair is used for seated support. Recommended age 65+.

STEP: Choreographed exercises that incorporates a traditional step promoting cardiovascular fitness as well as lower-body strength.

STRENGTH: A choreographed weightlifting class that helps build endurance while becoming stronger. Also known as Mossa.

STRONG: A step-by-step weight lifting class using free weights, steps, and barbells to help you achieve overall body strength.

TNT: (Trim and Tone): Keep your heart healthy and your muscles toned. Improve flexibility and build strength. This class will get you trim and toned in a great group atmosphere.

WATER AEROBICS: Build cardiovascular stamina, strength, and flexibility in the water. Benefits include increasing circulation to help you rehabilitate healing muscles and joints.

YOGA: A combination of deep breathing, stretching, and balance exercises that will enhance your total well being.
