August 2022 Instructor of the Month - Melissa Morris

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself: what are some fun facts about you?

 I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband and two sons.  I enjoy hiking, biking, fishing and kayaking.

2. What do you teach at the YMCA of Parkersburg? Tell us a little bit about it.

I teach Middle School Archery.  In this class students will learn safety when using the bow and arrow.  They will also learn the parts of the bow as well as the process for shooting the bow.  They will gain confidence when shooting a bow.

3. When and why did you become an instructor? What's your teaching style?

I have been teaching archery at Greenmont Elementary for 5 years.  To his is my first time teaching Middle School archery but I look forward to working with these older students.  I believe that all students can learn archery best with a bow in hand.

5. What is your most favorite part of teaching at the YMCA of Parkersburg

I enjoy the adults Andy students that I work with.  I also enjoy the small class size.
