What is your role at the YMCA? 

I work as a Child Care Teacher.

Tell us a little about your Y-story. What made you want to come work at the YMCA? 

I knew I wanted to pursue education for my future career, so this job seemed like a good to put my foot in the door!

How has the YMCA impacted your life? 

I have learned so many skills that have helped me become a better future educator. Furthermore, the Y has shown me my true passion in life is working with children!

What do you think the community needs to know about the YMCA of Parkersburg?

The YMCA of Parkersburg is wonderful community program which brings a lot of positive resources to our area.

How have you witnessed the YMCA mission in action?

YMCA Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. 

I have seen our mission statement in action through the treatment of every single child, how no matter their background, is treated the same and given the same opportunities to thrive in our care.

What is something you are proud of from the last year?

I am proud of how far I’ve come in learning to become comfortable in a childcare setting!
