August Trainer of the Month - Amy Paff
The YMCA of Parkersburg's Trainer of the Month is designed to help you get to know the trainers that help make our Y community great. This month, we’re introducing Amy Paff who instructs Strong and Step Aerobics. Let’s get to know Amy:
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself: what are some fun facts about you?
I am a wife and mom of 2 kiddos who loves to bake and decorate cakes. Outside of family life and instructing fitness classes, I work part-time as the Director of Community Ministry at my local church.
2. What fitness class(es) do you instruct?
I teach Strong and Step Aerobics.
Strong: Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:30 AM
Step Aerobics: Mondays and Wednesdays at 9:30 AM
3. When and why did you become a trainer? What's your style of training?
I became a trainer to keep myself accountable and help others find accountability with their healthy lifestyles.
My style of teaching is to have fun and mix up the routines to keep things interesting.
4. Tell us a little bit about the fitness class(es) that you instruct.
Strong is a lifting class for all levels to tone and trim the body. It focuses on each body part.
Step Aerobics is a constant movement class averaging 5,000-6,000 steps in 45 minutes. Each routine is unique with fun steps and music to get your mind off of ‘working out’.
5. What is your most favorite part about instructing at the YMCA of Parkersburg and why?
I enjoy the people, the atmosphere and the variety of classes and equipment available at the YMCA.
