The YMCA of Parkersburg's Trainer of the Month is designed to help you get to know the trainers that help make our Y community great. This month, we’re introducing Sara Reeves who instructs some of our Indoor Cycling classes. Get to know Sarah by reading her responses to our interview questions below.

1. Please tell us a little bit about yourself: what are some fun facts about you?

Hi!  My name is Sara Reeves.  I live in Parkersburg with my fiancé and our four cats.  We enjoy running, hiking, and traveling in our free time. I have also worked at the Social Security Administration for 21 years.

2. What fitness class/classes do you instruct?

I have taught Indoor Cycling at the Y since the class was introduced.

3. When and why did you become a trainer? What's your style of training?

I began teaching classes at the Y to hold myself accountable to a weekly exercise schedule.  My style of teaching is to allow new class members as well as regular class members to obtain a good workout and hopefully continue attending the class for years to come.

4. Tell us a bit about the class you instruct.

Indoor cycling is a spin class that helps build endurance, stamina, and enhance total well-being.

5. What is your favorite part about instructing at the Y? Favorite part about the Y?

I have made lasting friendships through the classes that I have instructed and attended since I first joined the Y in 1999. Everyone I have met through the Y has made an impression on me. I am encouraged by the number of people striving to start or maintain a healthy lifestyle and hope I can help some of our members along the way.
